shuohao-skills

Worth studyingOpen-source traction 655

Turns a novel into a shoot-ready short-drama kit: character bibles, look prompts, voice profiles, episode outlines.

The old behavior is unmistakable — a writer hand-writing character bios, an art lead producing reference sheets, a director breaking it into episodes. Three to five people, one to two weeks.

Why it's worth your time: while everyone fights over generating footage, it walked upstream to preparing the material. That stretch eats the most people, leans hardest on experience, and is the least likely to get productized, because it demos badly. The part to steal is its 13 quality gates — turning creative quality into hard constraints a script can check, before anyone looks at the work.

Revenue is open source as the hook, a paid community as the till. Low ceiling, but the path already works.

open-ai-canvas

Worth studyingOpen-source traction 535

One canvas holds a whole production: pull character assets out of a novel, then arrange storyboards, images, video, and audio into a film.

It's a bet on the container, not the generator. It builds no model of its own — only the canvas that organizes what other models produce. The logic underneath: model quality converges, and what's left to compete on is who owns the structure of the work.

Go read its character asset schema. How it defines a character's look, voice, and temperament and holds those consistent across separate generation steps is the hardest problem in any multi-step creative pipeline, and someone has published an answer.

⚠️ One flag: the project homepage points at ddcat.pronhubcn.com, and the shape of that domain is suspicious. Don't upload material there until it's explained.

The GTM Co-Founder

Keep watchingOpen-source traction 176

A marketing brain for technical founders who don't have a co-founder.

It's trying to package judgment as a tool, which is the hardest thing on this list. What it can do: the order of the questions, which metrics to watch, the list of traps. What it can't do: tell you which path fits your specific situation.

That line is the useful part. If you're productizing expertise, it's your pricing boundary — give away the standardizable half, charge for the judgment.

Also read its opening line. It doesn't say "we provide GTM solutions," it says "some days are just plain hard." That, not the feature set, is what took it to number one for the day.

SaaS is being rebuilt for agents

Not a guess — this is what showed up in a single day:

Product What it is
Comp AI CRM A CRM for AI agents
Docker Sandboxes Disposable isolated sandboxes for agents, from Docker itself
OptMem Permanent memory for agents
axern Open-source sandboxes for agents
numbat Observability for agent behavior
Reference Local semantic search for agents
Toolport One MCP configuration shared across all your agents
mcp-server A working phone number for an agent
Progress AI Observability Tracing and evaluation for agents in production

CRM, search, sandboxes, memory, observability — even a phone number. All of it, in one day.

What it means: the money right now is flowing into tools sold to agents, not applications sold to people. If you're building an AI product for humans, this pile-up isn't your competition. It's evidence that the human-facing end is being relatively ignored.

What the large players did

3 items
  • Meta released Muse Glimmer (the most-discussed item of the day) — a 30B open-weights model tuned for agents that live on your own machine. The bar for local agents dropped another notch.
  • Docker shipped official agent sandboxes — the infrastructure incumbents are entering the field.
  • Claude turned on watermarking for AI-generated content — applied across the board, marking all generated text.

China market signals (third-party measured traffic)

4 rows

Two growth numbers on the charts deserve a flag:

MoM Product Traffic
+13311% MaxAI.me 2.56M
+3479% SenseTime Raccoon 3.70M
+30% Tencent CodeBuddy 7.49M
+24.6% Z.ai 10.24M

MaxAI.me up 133x in a month, SenseTime Raccoon up 35x. That magnitude is rarely organic — either there's large-scale traffic acquisition behind it or the measurement definition changed. The next collection run will tell us whether this is real growth or a one-time pulse.

Clear replacement, worth a look next time

  • StepShot — turns real workflows into step-by-step illustrated guides. Replaces writing SOPs by hand
  • Rescript for Desktop — open-source alternative to a $30/month incumbent, running on-device. Clean angle of attack
  • Troopr AI Scrum Master — writes the daily standup from the work that actually happened
  • Stoa Markets (YC S26) — a marketplace for GPUs and AI servers

A wave of open source from Chinese developers

  • open-kimi-ppt-skill, traction 1606 — an unofficial slides skill producing editable decks
  • douyin-tiktok-story-skill, 212 — a short-video story workflow
  • Gendangzou-skill, 173 — agent-facing research on Chinese A-share sectors
  • moonlit-stories, 153 — English picture-book workflow, focused on illustration consistency

Too thin to judge without digging

  • Soloop — "Approval-first Agent OS for solo founders." No way to tell what it does without the site
  • Argos — "The AI that acts as you, right in your browser"
  • Workflo — Mac workspace automation. "Never sees your screen" is an interesting position

Limits of this read

  1. Some products have nothing but a one-line self-description. Sites and pricing haven't been verified one by one, so every judgment about business model here is inferred from public information, not confirmed fact.
  2. This is one day of data. The items under "what to watch next" need several more days before any of them can be verified.
